Lukashenko explains why escalation in Ukraine is against Belarus’ interests

MINSK, 18 December (BelTA) – Answering questions after his Address to the Belarusian people and parliament, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko explained why continuation and escalation of the conflict in Ukraine is disadvantageous for Belarus, BelTA has learned.

When asked about this issue, Aleksandr Lukashenko shared an insider detail. Quite recently, Ukrainians warned the Belarusian side through certain intelligence channels that a drone had entered Belarusian territory. The Ukrainians suggested shooting down this UAV. The president cautioned that such an action would have far-reaching consequences.
