Lukashenko expects fresh reasonable ideas for development of Emergencies Ministry

MINSK, 5 July (BelTA) – The Emergencies Ministry needs fresh reasonable ideas for development, the Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said at a ceremony to honor the graduates of the military higher education institutions and senior officers on 5 July, BelTA has learned.

The President noted that a large number of people die in fires. This problems needs to be dealt with in the foreseeable future. “We need fresh, balanced and reasonable ideas and proposals for the development and improving the Emergencies Ministry, optimization of control activities,” Alexander Lukashenko noted.

The head of state also noted that the role of the border agency in monitoring and anticipating potential challenges and threats to border security is increasing. “It is therefore necessary to continue to improve the border security system, and actively introduce new forms of protecting our borders,” Alexander Lukashenko said.

According to Alexander Lukashenko, the major task of officers of the interior agencies is to maintain public order in the country so that every citizen can be sure of his safety and that of their children. It is necessary to put up a reliable barrier to the spread of drugs, to redouble efforts to combat theft. We need effective and resolute measures to deal with the crime in rural areas. Particular attention should be paid to the protection of children and senior citizens,” the head of state said.

According to Alexander Lukashenko, the Armed Forces should focus on comprehensive enhancement of combat and mobilization readiness, the training level and cohesion of governing bodies and troops, performance of military forces and units. “You must prioritize practical training of troops with the use of modern combat methods, training for concrete defense tasks,” the President said.
