Lukashenko expected to make fundamental, keynote speech at Belarusian People’s Congress

MINSK, 11 December (BelTA) – The Belarus president’s Press Secretary Natalya Eismont has revealed details of preparation of the speech Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko is expected to make at the forthcoming session of the Belarusian People’s Congress. The details were revealed in an interview with the First News TV channel, BelTA has learned.

According to Natalya Eismont, after getting back to Belarus from a lengthy foreign tour Aleksandr Lukashenko saw to preparations for the Belarusian People’s Congress among other matters. In particular, the head of state heard a report from Prime Minister of Belarus Aleksandr Turchin, who is the chairman of the organizing committee of the Belarusian People’s Congress.

Natalya Eismont said: “The president is already rather actively taking care of and has seriously immersed himself in preparations for the Belarusian People’s Congress. As the chairman of the Belarusian People’s Congress, naturally. The president will make an address. It is something everyone has been looking forward to. Everyone understands the acuity of the moment, the importance of the president delivering a keynote speech, a fundamental speech at this time. It will be definitely of that kind. The president understands it better than everyone else. He is already working on preparations.”

Since he is the chairman of the Belarusian People’s Congress, it is very important for Aleksandr Lukashenko to understand how this massive forum would proceed. “It is a political event of utmost importance for us. We have no doubt that the entire world will keep an eye on it,” the press secretary of the Belarusian head of state stated.
