Lukashenko demands constant improvement in education

MINSK, 24 August (BelTA) – Constant improvement in education is needed, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said when he visited the exhibition of new school books and education programs published for the 2017-2018 academic year on 24 August, BelTA has learned.

In particular, the stand features education programs for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd forms, education programs in the Belarusian and Russian languages and literature, foreign languages, world history, Belarus’ history, mathematics, informatics, technical drawing, home economics, social studies, physics, chemistry, biology, etc. Apart from that, Alexander Lukashenko saw the stands with new school books. The president believes that everything should be done properly. “And it should be improved almost every year,” the head of state said.

The participants of the plenary session of the Nationwide Conference on Teaching which is now taking place in Minsk also saw the exhibition titled Education for the Future of the Country, and the Smart Bus hardware and software suite.

The exposition features electronic versions of new school books, interactive educational materials placed on the national educational portal with the use of the interactive panel of OAO Horizont.

The exposition showcases the achievements of the Belarusian education system in various categories. These include the efforts to preserve the affordability of pre-school education, the scientific and methodological support in secondary education in the 2017-2018 academic year, the experience of inclusive education. Besides, the exposition features modern educational technologies and means of education (educational stands and simulators for training in machine-building and the services sector), educational and methodological complexes for vocational training, scientific and technical achievements (a lab stand, an electronic portal of nuclear knowledge, a university nanosatellite) used in the process of education at institutions of higher learning and for the professional motivation of school leavers. Belarusian dynasties of teachers can be seen in a photo exhibition.

As for the Smart Bus hardware and software suite, this is a MAZ 241S30 bus. It was presented to the department of education, sport and tourism of the Myadel District Executive Committee by the Development Bank as part of the School Bus program in 2016. It is equipped with modern technical and software solutions for students’ safety.

Innovative technical solutions used by the Education Ministry are in the center of attention at the Nationwide Conference on Teaching.
