Lukashenko: Belarus is one of the best countries to live in

GRODNO, 19 October (BelTA) – Belarus is one of the best countries to live in. Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko made the statement as he talked to students of Grodno universities on 19 October, BelTA has learned.

The head of state pointed out Belarus’ advantageous geographical position at an intersection of transit routes. The fact enables good conditions for people’s salaries and the country’s economic development.

“Everything is transported via Belarus these days. Because it is a calm and placid transit country. We can offer services to people, who transport goods. Simply speaking, we can repair their vehicles and offer draniki [potato pancakes]. We have good villages and towns everywhere along the motorway from Smolensk and Brest. No, you cannot become a U.S. dollar billionaire like some people in Russia. But you don’t have to.”

“I see Belarus as a country fit for life. Those, who want to calmly live here, raise their kids and make money, will always be able to do it,” said Alexander Lukashenko.

Alexander Lukashenko also noted that it is impossible to please everyone. One needs to work, for instance, by studying hard, in order to achieve something in life. “Those, who climb this mountain by the skin of their teeth, those, who get education, acquire life experience, and invest in themselves, will be successful. Those people will get more. Everything depends on the individual,” Alexander Lukashenko is convinced.

“We have a good country. People want to come back to Belarus,” added the head of state.
