Lukashenko: Belarus is a peaceful country

MINSK, 15 October (BelTA) - The main reason for the current domestic political events in Belarus is influence from outside, Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he met with CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas on 15 October, BelTA has learned.

“The world is going through a difficult period. Many say that the president received information, analyzed, knew about it. No, there was no information about what would happen after these elections here, worldwide in general. My forecast, however, proved 100% accurate, both in terms of the pandemic and the situation that is developing today. It was not difficult to predict all this. Unfortunately, our Western partners have become too active and have gone too far in what concerns Belarus,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.

In his words, Belarus “is not very much alarmed about it, although I can hardly call such things pleasant”. “It is a quiet and peaceful country. Only in Minsk we cannot decide how to live further. I think, however, we will definitely cope with these problems. There are no doubts about it. The internal situation is not just complicated, the main reason for it is an external one. If not for the external pressure and influence, it would have never happened in Belarus. We have been through all kinds of things. But then the influence from outside was minimal, and now they have activated to the full. We will deal will it. Belarusians are smart people, they will figure everything out,” the president said.
