MINSK, 29 April (BelTA) - Belarus holds a consistent peacekeeping position, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said in his annual address to the Belarusian people and the National Assembly on 29 April, BelTA has learned.

That is why Belarus became the most appropriate venue for the talks on Ukraine. "Activity on the Ukraine peaceful settlement helps Belarus strengthen its international positions. But, most importantly, Americans, and Europeans recognized (I met with them many times, so did our Minister of Foreign Affairs) that Belarus performs one of the most important functions of ensuring security in the region. It is true,” the head of state stressed.

"It is essential for us to strengthen our partners' awareness that predictable and stable Belarus is of value to the whole world," the President said.
