MINSK, 18 December (BelTA) – What Belarus will be like depends on us alone, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said in his Address to the Belarusian people and Parliament on 18 December, BelTA has learned.
“What the world will be like tomorrow, we do not know. What Belarus will be like depends on us alone. Everyone must think about how our country develops. Let’s do everything so that our children have a place to live,” said the head of state.
“My task is to resolve strategic issues. I have more than enough of those,” the Belarusian leader said.
“Time has chosen us, and this is a time for concrete action! Perhaps I have not convinced everyone of what we must accomplish. Perhaps I have not found the right words. But I know there is something you will absolutely agree with and embrace in your hearts. We, our generation, cannot pass our unresolved problems and questions onto the shoulders of our children. We have no right to do so,” said the head of state.
“We do care about what comes after us, about the fate of those who will follow, our children. The times are hard and the challenges severe. So let’s complete our mission. Our successors will follow. They can use our experience if they want to. Otherwise, they’ll build the nation for themselves,” the Belarusian leader stressed.
