Lajcak: Minsk is a byword for Ukraine’s hope for peace

MINSK, 2 February (BelTA) – Minsk has become a synonym for a hope to regulate the situation in Ukraine, Vice Premier and Foreign Minister of Slovakia Miroslav Lajcak said in an interview to the Belarusian TV program Kontury, BelTA has learned.

“Today Minsk is a byword for a hope to regulate the situation in Ukraine. The agreements reached in Belarus are a basis for the process. As a diplomat, I appreciate highly the role Belarus plays in searching for the way out of Ukraine’s situation,” he stressed.

According to Miroslav Lajcak, Slovakia takes a middle way in respect to the conflict. “The current level of hostility is abnormal. And no one can convince me that Russia and Ukraine are two public enemies,” he said.
