Kupchyna: Belarus, Austria have a long tradition of mutually beneficial cooperation

MINSK, 26 September (BelTA) – Belarus and Austria have a long tradition of constructive and mutually beneficial cooperation in different sectors, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Austria, Belarus’ Permanent Representative to the international organizations in Vienna Alena Kupchyna said at the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna on 25 September, BelTA learned from the Belarusian diplomatic mission in Austria.

Alena Kupchyna’s speech touched upon the theme “Belarus-Austria: Launching Bridges and Advancing Interconnectivity in a Greater Europe”. The event was organized by the Austrian analytical center – the Institute for Danube Region and Central Europe, jointly with the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna under the auspices of Raiffeisen Bank.

The ambassador talked about the key historical moments and the current development of Belarus, the country’s approaches to building relations with foreign partners. Alena Kupchyna emphasized Belarus’ contribution to strengthening security and stability in the regional and global context, including the initiative of the new Helsinki process.

Alena Kupchyna pointed to the closeness of the Belarusian and Austrian positions on a wide range of issues of the current international and European agenda. The two countries have been doing their best to prevent economic fragmentation and advance the economic interconnectivity in the European and Eurasian space.
