Kuchma: I wish Ukraine were as stable as Belarus

MINSK, 6 November (BelTA) – Looking at the situation in Belarus, I would like to wish this stability to Ukraine, former president of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma told media on 6 November as he attended the Belarus President inauguration ceremony, BelTA has learned.

“Looking at the situation in Belarus, I would like to wish the same stability to Ukraine. Ukraine has gone the way we wish no one,” stressed Leonid Kuchma. In his words, Minsk became the place where the basis for the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict was laid down. “First of all, I talk about the withdrawal of heavy armament,” he added.

The Ukraine ex-president also took note of the recent changes in the Belarusian capital. “Every time I come to Minsk I enjoy everything I see, starting from the airport. When I was President of Ukraine and visited Minsk, the city was different. It has changed a lot. You should take pride in the transformations that take place in your country,” Leonid Kuchma is confident.
