Kuchma: Belarusians should be proud of stability in their country

MINSK, 27 September (BelTA) – Belarusians should be proud of stability in their country, Ukraine’s former president Leonid Kuchma said in an interview to the Belarus One TV channel, BelTA informs.

“I would not even compare the situations in Belarus and Ukraine. We have something to learn from Belarus, the openness of the authorities in the first place. No one has made ample promises. There has been no populism which is typical for Ukrainian politicians. That is why I exclude the development of the Ukrainian scenario in Belarus. I think Belarusians should be proud of stability in their country,” said Leonid Kuchma.

According to the former president of Ukraine, the Belarusian people are smart enough to choose the path that will bear fruit. “Of course we should take into account the current situation in the world and rest on the latest achievements, but every nation has the right to make their choice,” the politician noted.
