Kochanova reveals details of meeting with Belarus President

MINSK, 18 October (BelTA) - Personnel policy, ideological work, control over the implementation of the president's instructions, interaction with the executive authorities and other government bodies are the main issues on the agenda of the Belarus President Administration, the head of Belarus President Administration Natalya Kochanova told the media while commenting on the meeting between President Alexander Lukashenko and senior officials of the Belarus President Administration, BelTA has learned.

“We have received challenging tasks in terms of control, interaction with the Council of Ministers, review of the documents sent to the President Administration and then to the head of state,” she said.

On the one hand, the President Administration should maintain all-round interaction with other government bodies. On the other hand, it should assume the role of a filter. “The President Administration should run like clockwork. Before being submitted to the head of state, all documents should be thoroughly scrutinized. We understand that this is very important work. But we can achieve results only when we ensure smooth interaction. This is the main thing we discussed today,” Natalya Kochanova noted.

In her words, the participants of the meeting also discussed economic matters, including salaries, prices and employment. “This is a triune task set forth by the head of state several years ago. The control over the implementation of these instructions will be tough,” the head of the Belarus President Administration said.

Among the issues discussed were also the forthcoming events to mark national holidays and anniversaries. In 2019 Belarus will celebrate the 75th anniversary of the liberation from the Nazis and the 25th anniversary of the institute of presidency.

Speaking about personnel management, the head of the administration stressed that priority is given to fair and prompt settlement of emerging problems. “The improvement of the personnel policy is of paramount importance. We need rotation and rejuvenation of personnel,” Natalya Kochanova said.

In her words, the Belarus President Administration has been working hard to improve the personnel policy. The administration has developed a special talent pool, constantly works with young promising leaders, including through a counseling school, and organizes on-the-job training.
