Japan praises Belarus' stability, development level

MINSK, 31 January (BelTA) – Japan praises the level of stability and development in Belarus, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said in his letter of greetings to Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko as the two countries celebrate the 25th anniversary of the diplomatic relations. The greetings were read out by Charge d’Affaires of Japan to Belarus Hiroki Tokunaga at a meeting in the House of Friendship to mark the anniversary, BelTA has learned.

“Since the day Belarus announced its independence our countries have been able to build good mutual relations. The two states enjoy old-standing friendship. The bilateral relations continue developing thanks to a wide exchange at different levels, including cooperation in mitigating the consequences of nuclear accidents,” the letter says.

The Japanese PM also noted in his letter that the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations would serve as a stimulus for further strengthening of relations between Japan and Belarus, the two nations.

Partaking in the meeting were representatives of ministries and agencies, the Belarusian Society of Friendship and Cultural Ties with Foreign Countries, and also students.
