MINSK, 18 December (BelTA) – BelTA’s exhibition “Belarusian People's Congress: The History of Belarusian People's Power" has opened at the Palace of the Republic, BelTA reports.
The exhibition combines texts and images to visually narrate the key stages of the formation and functioning of the Belarusian People's Congress, its role in shaping Belarusian statehood, and in making strategic decisions, explained Natalya Kozich, deputy editor-in-chief, head of special projects of the visual information department at BelTA.
"BelTA’s photographers have worked at every session of the Belarusian People's Congress, starting from the first one held 30 years ago, and they are also working at today's one. Therefore, e have a unique photo archive. Thanks to this, we can trace how the congress has developed,” she noted. "The Belarusian People's Congress has become a matter of national importance, acquired constitutional status, and is now the highest body of people's power. Its decisions are binding and have legal force, unlike previous advisory resolutions.”
The exhibition features more than 100 photographs.
