Hiroki Tokunaga: Japan looks forward to Belarus’ active participation in EXPO 2025 in Osaka

MINSK, 8 February (BelTA) – Japan is looking forward to Belaru active participation in World Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan, Charge d'Affaires of Japan to Belarus Hiroki Tokunaga said at a press conference at the national press center in Minsk on 8 February, BelTA has learned.

“I believe that the expo is a good opportunity for Belarus to show its culture and industry not only to Japan but also to Asia and the whole world,” Hiroki Tokunaga said.

Speaking about  the important events scheduled in Japan this year, Hiroki Tokunaga outlined the ceremony of the Emperor’s Ascension to the Throne on 22 October to be attended by leaders of many countries. He noted that Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has been also invited to the event. “It will be a great honor for us if he attends,” the diplomat said.

The press conference was dedicated to the Belarusian-Japanese relations, including the prospects for the development of the bilateral cooperation in economy and culture.
