High level of professionalism named BelTA’s distinctive feature

MOSCOW, 13 November (BelTA) – BelTA’s photo exhibition Moments of the Century celebrating 100 years of the Belarusian news agency opened in Moscow at the Business and Cultural Center of the Belarusian embassy in Russia on 12 November, BelTA has learned.

“Back in the Soviet times, the Belarusian Telegraph Agency (BelTA) always had its own face. It was always known for a very high level of professionalism,” State Secretary of the Union State Grigory Rapota said at the opening ceremony. “I must say that this high level of professionalism remains a distinctive feature of BelTA correspondents today. We know this for sure, since in all our events, press tours, and media forums, we can see BelTA journalists and we always read their works with great pleasure,” he added.

According to the state secretary, from the first days of the Union State BelTA was its partner. “Today BelTA remains our faithful companion. We are implementing several successful joint projects. They are very informative and brief, which is especially important in an era of abundance of information,” he said.

“The history of the news agency is the history of our country,” said Irina Akulovich, BelTA Director General. "The Moments of the Century exhibition has toured entire Belarus, and now it is in Moscow” she added.

The exposition features about 40 large-format photos depicting important landmarks in the history of Belarus since 1918 up to the present day. “The main thing is these photos is the emotions and faces of people who built their country. Looking at these photos we understand that a lot depends on us, including the fate of our country,” Irina Akulovich said.

Attending the opening ceremony was also Deputy State Secretary of the Union State Aleksei Kubrin, First Deputy Director General of TASS News Agency Mikhail Gusman, diplomats, representatives of integration structures, the Belarusian diaspora, and Russian mass media.

The exposition will stay open through mid December 2018.
