Gusman: Belarus President’s new Helsinki Process initiative can be implemented within five years

MINSK, 17 July (BelTA) – The initiative of Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko to launch a new Helsinki Process can be implemented within five years, First Deputy Director General of the TASS News Agency Mikhail Gusman said in an interview to the ONT TV channel, BelTA has learned.

According to Mikhail Gusman, it is important to gradually implement the idea of Alexander Lukashenko. According to the expert, today Europe needs a new negotiating process and, in fact, it has already approached it. “It seems to me that Alexander Grigoryevich [Lukashenko] has felt the right moment. I believe that it can be implemented within the next five years,” said Mikhail Gusman.

He is confident that the talks on Helsinki 2 are needed as a generation of young politicians is gradually coming to power in the EU countries.
