Development of Union State named among Belarus parliament’s priorities

MINSK, 30 June (BelTA) – The development of the Belarus-Russia Union State is among the key priorities of the Belarusian parliament, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Vladimir Andreichenko said at the closing of the ninth session of the House of Representatives of the fifth convocation on 30 June, BelTA has learned.

“The construction of the Union State is among our key priorities. The jubilee 50th session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Belarus-Russia Union State discussed ways to enhance the efficiency of the use of budgetary funds, streamline the procedure for adoption and implementation of Union State programs, and eliminate the red tape barriers hindering business activity,” Vladimir Andreichenko said.

“We have reviewed the draft law on the state youth policy, which is expected to open up new opportunities for enterprise and creativity, through the lens of the instructions of the head of state and the decisions of the 5th Belarusian People’s Congress,” Vladimir Andreichenko noted.

He added that the Belarusian leader made a speech at the Belarusian People’s Congress and set the goals for the MPs: to maintain the level of legislative work, contribute to economic and social stability, enhance the political image of the country, and consolidate Belarus’ position in international markets.

“In the same manner, the House of Representatives discussed the government action plan for 2016-2020 and the new Military Doctrine. These documents provided the basis for the strategy for Belarus’ social and economic development for the next five years,” Vladimir Andreichenko said.
