Cooperation with Russia central to Belarus’ coalitional military policy

MINSK, 15 September (BelTA) – Cooperation with Russia is central to the coalitional military policy of Belarus, BelTA learned from Vladimir Makarov, Head of the Information Office, Press Secretary of the Central Office for Ideology of the Belarusian Defense Ministry, on 15 September.

The official stressed that Belarus pursues a multivector peaceful foreign policy. Yet the Belarusian army gets improved and a coalitional military policy is pursued. Military and technical cooperation with Russia is central to this policy, said Vladimir Makarov.

Belarus does not see any country as its enemy. The stipulation is part of the country’s military doctrine, reminded the press secretary of the Belarusian Defense Ministry. Western countries, which are NATO members, are not viewed as Belarus’ enemies, he added. “We do everything not to have adversaries in the future, too,” summed up Vladimir Makarov.
