China to stay committed to agreements reached with Belarus

MINSK, 3 April (BelTA) – China intends to continue the implementation of agreements reached by Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko and China President Xi Jinping, Deputy Chairwoman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Shen Yueyue said at a function in the Belarusian Society of Friendship and Cultural Ties with Foreign Countries on 3 April, BelTA has learned.

“We are ready to implement, together with our Belarusian counterparts, the agreements reached by our leaders, to deepen the Chinese-Belarusian strategic partnership, including within the framework of the Road and Belt initiative,” she said. According to Shen Yueyue, the second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation will take place in Beijing in April 2019 and the Belarusian president is expected to take part in the event.

The deputy chairwoman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress said that China intends to promote multipronged practical cooperation with Belarus, to share development opportunities for the benefit of the two peoples. “The Chinese people are persistently promoting the fulfillment of the dream of the great rebirth of the Chinese nation. The Belarusian people are also making efforts to fulfill the dream of living a prosperous and happy life in a calm and comfortable environment. Let us work together to make both dreams come true,” said Shen Yueyue.
