MINSK, 6 February (BelTA) – Belarus needs to adopt a more pro-active product marketing strategy, Catalonian Secretary for Infrastructure and Transport Isidre Gavin told the STV TV channel on 5 February, BelTA has learned.

“Belarus-made products are of a very good quality. Therefore, they have won recognition around the world. As far as design is concerned, Belarusian goods have made considerable progress here. What still needs to be done is to step up advertising efforts to make products more visible on the market,” Isidre Gavin said.

He noted that Catalonia considers collaboration in manufacturing with Belarus. “We would like to sign an agreement to assemble Belarusian electric buses in our territory. Thus, we could supply them not only to the domestic market, but also to the markets of Portugal and other neighboring states. Our region, just like Belarus, has many companies that produce component parts for all kinds of vehicles, therefore cooperation in this field is absolutely feasible and realistic,” the minister said.

According to Isidre Gavin, Belarus boasts a very beautiful nature and many national parks. This could be a great draw for Catalonians.

All in all, he said he got a good impression of Belarus. “The Belarusian nation has suffered a lot throughout their history, but thanks to their hard work and resilience they have managed to build an advanced, beautiful and modern country. I see a solid and hard-working nation. Belarusians are serious people, they are ready to look for a compromise and they tell the truth. I like how things are managed here. You have a good services sector. We have a lot in common, although we are in the opposite sides of Europe and European events. I see common features in agriculture, manufacturing industry, love for nature, which can serve a good foundation for cooperation and new projects,” the Catalonian official said.
