Call to make Belarus attractive for wealthy people from around the world

Call to make Belarus attractive for wealthy people from around the world

MINSK, 24 April (BelTA) – Belarus should be made attractive for wealthy people from across the globe, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said in his State of the Nation Address on 24 April, BelTA has learned.

“We should give a serious thought to what should be done to make out country attractive for wealthy people from around the world. I urge the Council of Ministers and the National Bank to carry out a close and comprehensive analysis of the international processes. It is necessary to enable such conditions for the capital that no other country can provide. At least, we should be the first to do this and take the lead,” Alexander Lukashenko remarked.

The era of competition for investment will gradually come to an end, he underlined. There is enough financial capital in the world. What matters now is human intelligence and energy. “Ageing in Europe is inevitable. The inevitable changes in the migration policy will solve the problems of the European pension systems. Europe will increasingly attract active workforce,” the head of state noted.

Bearing this in mind, the government must ensure the transfer of ideas and “brains” to Belarus. “The goal is to attract the best and smartest people to Belarus, a clean peaceful and comfortable corner of Europe,” Alexander Lukashenko stressed.

In his words, Belarus should be interesting and special and stand out in today’s world. “What are we ready to offer? A stable, comfortable, and predictable environment must become our national brand. Friendliness is a mandatory principle of work for everyone: the tax authorities should not view the taxpayers as potential offenders. The taxpayers, in turn, should not make an enemy of the taxmen. This applies to other fields,” the Belarusian leader added.
