Bulegenov: Victory Day is a holiday that unites countries

MINSK, 9 May (BelTA) – Victory Day is a holiday that unites countries, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Belarus Yergali Bulegenov said in an interview to the Belarus One TV channel, BelTA has learned.

The diplomat regretted that today not all the countries are unanimous in assessing the results of the Second World War, with some of the states even revising them. However, according to the Ambassador, many former countries of the Soviet Union stand united today. “This holiday unites more than separates,” said Yergali Bulegenov.

According to Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich, Victory Day is always a recollection of those hard years Belarus went through, of relatives and loved ones who took part in the war. “We always think about it and hope this will never repeat in our country, other states. We are a peaceful country and do everything possible for peaceful labor, happy children, and creation in the interests of the present and future generations,” he noted.
