Belarusians, Russians promised equal rights to labor, education in Union State

GOMEL, 8 December (BelTA) – Belarusians and Russians will enjoy equal rights to employment and education in the Union State of Belarus and Russia. Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev made the statement during the session of the Council of Ministers of the Union State of Belarus and Russia on 8 December, BelTA has learned.

Unifying legislation in the social sphere should become an important area of work for the next five years. “We will have to enable equal rights of Russians and Belarusians to employment and education. Today we’ve talked about the possibility of equalizing conditions for healthcare services, about additional opportunities for acquiring medical services in Russia and Belarus. All the financial aspects should be polished to make it happen,” noted Dmitry Medvedev.

The agenda also includes social security and pensions as well as insurance. They should bring practical benefits for the people, added the Russian head of government.

Speaking about economic cooperation, Dmitry Medvedev stated that the countries were reducing dependence on foreign currency in mutual transactions.
