MINSK, 15 September (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Hungary Vladimir Ulakhovich spoke about the mutual interest of Belarus and Hungary on the air of the STV TV channel, BelTA has learned.

Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó visited Minsk on 10 September. Representatives of about 20 Hungarian companies also came to our country.

“The companies that came to Minsk focus on pharmaceutics, medicine, agriculture, and energy. These are exactly the areas that enable us to preserve our achievements and to explore new avenues for mutual cooperation,” Ambassador Vladimir Ulakhovich emphasized.

According to him, both countries boast a highly developed agricultural sector. “Both Hungary and Belarus have long been cooperating in animal husbandry, poultry farming, and lately in seed production,” the ambassador noted.

Speaking about energy cooperation, Ambassador Vladimir Ulakhovich pointed out: “Our Belarusian nuclear power plant is successfully operating in Ostrovets. A similar project Paks II is being implemented in the town of Paks. This also explains why the administrations of both towns are eager to cooperate. Overall, this area is developing very successfully.”
