Belarus Vice Premier: Belarusians honor their history, develop their nationhood

POLOTSK, 4 September (BelTA) - Belarusians honor their history and continue developing their national identity, Belarus’ Vice Premier Vasily Zharko said on 3 September while taking part in the Belarusian Written Language Day celebrations in Polotsk, BelTA has learned.

The vice premier and Belarus’ Information Minister Lilia Ananich were taken on a tour of the pavilions of the book and the press festival, talked to book publishers and writers, visited the Drukarski Dvor of the 16th Century, and took part in the Belarusian Written Language Day in Polotsk mark and envelope dedication ceremony.

Sharing his impressions with the journalists, Vasily Zharko praised a good organization of the festivities. “Polotsk has welcomed a lot of guests and offered an eventful program. In the pavilions of the press and the book festival we saw once again that the book is in demand in the present-day world,” the deputy prime minister said.

“It is good that we honor our history, honor our nationhood and develop it,” Vasily Zharko said.
