Belarus-Russia Union State viewed as most advanced integration project

Belarus-Russia Union State viewed as most advanced integration project

MINSK, 3 July (BelTA) – The Union State of Belarus and Russia is the most advanced integration project, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Igor Petrishenko said in an interview to Russia 24 TV channel, BelTA has learned.

“The most advanced and comprehensive project is the Union State of Belarus and Russia. All the best we have achieved within its bilateral format we have been integrating into the Eurasian Economic Union,” said Igor Petrishenko.

The Ambassador stressed that more than 20 years ago Belarus took the course for integration with Russia. “We are not going to turn somewhere. We are not going to be friends with someone against somebody, especially against our strategic partner and ally. We need to live and develop in peace,” he said.

Belarus’ course for peaceful development was outlined at the 5th Belarusian People’s Congress. Investment, creation of jobs and exports were named top priorities for the country’s ongoing five-year period.
