Belarus, Russia finalizing agreement on mutual recognition of visas

Belarus, Russia finalizing agreement on mutual recognition of visas

MINSK, 14 November (BelTA) - Belarus and Russia are finalizing the agreement on mutual recognition of visas, State Secretary of the Belarus-Russia Union state Grigory Rapota told the media, BelTA has learned.

Progress on the agreement on mutual recognition of visas will be discussed at a meeting of the high-level group at the Council of Ministers of the Union State, which will be held in Minsk on 14 November, and at the Union State Council of Ministers meeting (due in Brest on 13 December). “The Ministries of Foreign Affairs are engaged in very intensive work which is somewhere in the final stage,” Grigory Rapota noted.

Grigory Rapota admitted he cannot yet say whether the parties will be able to submit a finished document to the Council of Ministers or complete this work by the end of the year. He stressed that drafting an agreement is a responsible and challenging process.
