Belarus ready to intensify comprehensive dialogue with Bulgaria

MINSK, 10 November (BelTA) - Belarus is ready to intensify a comprehensive dialogue with Bulgaria, Belarus’ Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Oleg Kravchenko told the media after signing the final protocol of the 7th meeting of the Belarusian-Bulgarian intergovernmental commission on trade, economic and sci-tech cooperation on 10 November, BelTA has learned.

“Belarus is positive about the fact that our bilateral contacts at the intergovernmental level become regular and fruitful. During the session of the commission we took stock of the progress made in the implementation of the earlier-adopted decisions and discussed a wide range of issues, including cooperation in industry and agriculture, investments, science, tourism, education, cooperation at the regional level. The discussions, including those held in the working groups on agriculture, transport, tourism and sci-tech cooperation, show serious mutual interest in the development and strengthening of bilateral contacts in various areas of cooperation,” Oleg Kravchenko said.

The meeting of the commission was co-located with the traditional Belarusian-Bulgarian Business Forum, which was attended by representatives of the companies of the two countries.

Following the meeting of the intergovernmental commission the parties signed the relevant protocol which outlines the areas for further collaboration.

“I also welcome the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of our countries, which shows the interest of business in mutually beneficial cooperation. The Belarusian side highly appreciates the results of the current meeting of the commission. Together we will make the necessary efforts to maximize the potential of the bilateral relations. Belarus and Bulgaria intend to continue further dialogue at the intergovernmental level,” Oleg Kravchenko said.
