MINSK, 28 March (BelTA) – The Belarus president’s sons Nikolai and Viktor Lukashenko came to the Embassy of Russia in Belarus on 28 March in order to pay tribute to the memory of the people, who died in the Kemerovo shopping mall fire, BelTA has learned.

Viktor Lukashenko told reporters: “We’ve come here in order to offer our deepest condolences to the brotherly Russian nation on behalf of our entire family, on behalf of our father.”

Viktor Lukashenko stressed that the shopping mall fire in the Russian city of Kemerovo was a dreadful tragedy. “Our hearts go to Russians, to the families, who lost their kids,” added Viktor Lukashenko.

The Belarus president’s youngest son Nikolai Lukashenko also offered his condolences to the Russian nation.

Dmitry Lukashenko paid tribute to the memory of the Kemerovo fire victims in Moscow where he was with his family at that time.

Doors of the Russian embassy in Minsk stayed open through the day on 28 March as people, who wanted to offer their condolences, started coming since early morning. Belarusians were laying flowers and toys outside the embassy and lighting mourning candles.

Representatives of Belarusian government agencies, public and international organizations, heads of the country’s top mass media, foreign ambassadors, who are accredited in Belarus, used the book of condolence to write down their words of support for the entire Russian nation, friends and families of the people killed in the Kemerovo fire.
