Belarus president reiterates tough stance on corruption

MINSK, 26 June (BelTA) – There will be no mercy for corruption crimes. Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko made the statement as he made a number of personnel decisions on 26 June, BelTA has learned.

Appointing the new chairman of the Higher Attestation Commission, Alexander Lukashenko said: “You know what to do and how. Adherence to principles, honesty, sincerity. No unlawful actions must be tolerated. Nothing like corruption or something else. You can see what is going on in the country. There will be no mercy in this regard. I mean all the people in executive and managerial positions.”

A number of corrupt officials occupying prominent positions in various branches of the national economy starting with power engineering and ending with healthcare have been apprehended recently.
