Belarus, Poland to team up for China’s global projects

Belarus, Poland to team up for China’s global projects

MINSK, 11 October (BelTA) – Belarus and Poland will jointly take part in the implementation of global projects under China’s One Belt, One Road initiative, Belarus’ Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei said during his working visit to Poland. The records of the minister’s press conference are available on the website of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, BelTA informs.

“I am convinced that we have an open field for work here. We have agreed on concrete areas of cooperation,” Vladimir Makei noted.

The parties also discussed bilateral trade and economic cooperation and agreed to create maximally comfortable conditions for the joint intergovernmental commission which regular meeting is due to take place in Minsk on 24 October. The parties also discussed close cooperation in agriculture and industry.

“We believe that Belarus and Poland, despite them making part of different integration associations, should consider it not as an obstacle but as a chance to search for new opportunities. Through expanding its presence in Belarus, Poland will be able to enter the 170-million-strong market of the Eurasian Economic Union. Through getting a more secure footing in Poland, we will have an opportunity to enter the huge market of the European Union with its 500 million consumers,” said Vladimir Makei.

Today, there are almost 17 representations of Belarusian companies in Poland and there are 350 Polish-funded companies in Belarus.
