Belarus, Poland encouraged to co-launch more innovative investment projects

MINSK, 20 January (BelTA) – Belarus and Poland need more joint innovative investment projects, Chairman of the Council of the Republic of Belarus’ National Assembly Mikhail Myasnikovich noted as he met with outgoing Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Poland to Belarus Konrad Pawlik on 20 January, BelTA has learned.

During Konrad Pawlik’s tenure as the Ambassador to Belarus “our countries have gained more trust, the relations have become more constructive,” Mikhail Myasnikovich said. Belarus and Poland have made headway in trade and economic cooperation. The sides have been discussing industrial cooperation projects. Belarus and Poland need more joint innovative investment projects, the speaker underlined.

In his words, it is necessary to maintain an active dialogue in the parliamentary dimension. Mikhail Myasnikovich also recalled the visit of Marshal of Poland’s Senate Stanislaw Karczewski to Belarus in late 2016. The speaker called the visit a momentous event. Following the negotiations, the sides reached a number of specific agreements which are now being implemented.

According to Mikhail Myasnikovich, Belarus and Poland can build closer and more effective relations. “The constructive groundwork that we have laid on the basis of trust and mutual respect gives us the confidence to believe that we have really good prospects,” he remarked.

During the meeting, the sides touched upon a number of matters, including humanitarian cooperation.

The two-year diplomatic mission in Belarus was very fruitful, Ambassador Konrad Pawlik told the media. He expressed hope that everything achieved will lay a good basis for further relations. The ambassador named some promising avenues of cooperation, including investments, regional development, entrepreneurship, technology, and social policy.
