Belarus plans to extend visa-free program via Minsk Airport to 10 days in summer 2018

Belarus plans to extend visa-free program via Minsk Airport to 10 days in summer 2018

MINSK, 9 February (BelTA) – The duration of visa-free stay for those flying in and out Belarus through Minsk National Airport may be extended to ten days in summer 2018, Belarusian Vice Prime Minister Anatoly Kalinin noted at a wrap-up session of the Transport Ministry, BelTA has learned.

“As for visa-free travel, the duration of stay is ten days for foreign visitors to Brest and Grodno and five days for those flying in and out Minsk National Airport. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will be working to extend it to ten days this year, probably in July or August,” the official said.

Anatoly Kalinin instructed Minsk National Airport and the Belavia air carrier to enable the necessary conditions for foreign visitors to Belarus. “The airport is the main gate for the inflow of tourists,” he underlined.

BelTA reported earlier that a five-day visa-free program was launched in Belarus for nationals of 80 countries in February 2017. As from 1 January 2018, the duration of visa-free stay for foreign visitors to certain districts of Brest Oblast and Grodno Oblast was increased to ten days.
