MINSK, 21 September (BelTA) – Belarus is China’s important partner in the implementation of the Silk Road Economic Belt initiative, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Belarus Cui Qiming told BelTA.

The idea of the Silk Road Economic Belt has been put forward by Chinese President Xi Jinping, and it has been widely supported in the international arena. According to Cui Qiming, an agreement on joint actions in the implementation of the initiative has been reached at the Belarusian-Chinese high-level meetings.

“China and Belarus plan to jointly promote the Silk Road Economic Belt, including through the construction of the China-Belarus Industrial Park in order to advance multi-pronged cooperation in trade, investment, finance, and other sectors,” said the Ambassador.

In his words, China will assist integration of the Silk Road Economic Belt and the Eurasian Economic Union in their equal and mutually beneficial development.
