Belarus in favor of restriction-free market with Russia

Belarus in favor of restriction-free market with Russia

SOCHI, 18 September (BelTA) – Belarus strongly advocates the common market with Russia, free from any exemptions and restrictions, Speaker of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich told media at the Second Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia in Sochi on 18 September, BelTA informs.

According to Mikhail Myasnikovich, the two countries have over 400 exemptions and restrictions in the mutual trade and about 200 more in the area of services. “They should be removed, including through the unification of the legislations,” he said.

The Speaker of the Council of the Republic also emphasized the need for Belarus and Russia to develop a common industrial policy. “We do not have it yet. Neither have we made it in the Eurasian Economic Union,” he said. The common industrial policy does not mean steps away from market principles. Competition will remain. “We should consolidate our material and intellectual resources,” Mikhail Myasnikovich added.
