Belarus hails WHO’s contribution to preventing Ebola threat

MINSK, 15 May (BelTA) – Belarus appreciates the contribution of the World Health Organization (WHO) in the prevention of the Ebola threat to the global community. This is a statement from the message of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko to WHO Director General Margaret Chan read by Belarus’ Permanent Representative in Geneva Mikhail Khvostov, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The message also emphasizes the importance of coordinated and prompt response to such threats. Therefore, it is essential to improve the analysis and prediction of the situation.

“The Republic of Belarus is interested in the enhancement of comprehensive interaction with WHO in all areas, including in the advanced technologies research. Belarus is also ready to share the best practices and reserves in preventing infectious diseases,” the message from the Belarusian President reads.
