Belarus emphasizes need for peaceful resolution of Ukraine crisis

Belarus emphasizes need for peaceful resolution of Ukraine crisis

MINSK, 6 January (BelTA) – Belarus continues to stress the need for a peaceful resolution of the Ukrainian crisis. Strict implementation of the Minsk agreements by all parties will contribute to the Ukraine settlement, reads the review of Belarus’ foreign policy and the activities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2015 posted on the website of the ministry, BelTA has learned.

“Belarus has been making consistent effort to facilitate de-escalation of the conflict as it is genuinely interested in a speedy resolution of the crisis in Ukraine. The agreements reached during the meeting of the Normandy Four leaders in Minsk have become an international recognized tool for political and diplomatic settlement of the conflict. The Belarusian side ensured all conditions for regular meetings of the trilateral contact group on Ukraine and its working groups,” the review reads.

The ministry emphasized that in 2015 Belarus made efforts to help tackle global problems, modern challenges and threats. The country traditionally participated in the efforts of the United Nations and other international organizations. “Our consistent efforts on the international arena have strengthened the positive image of our country, highlighted Belarus’ role as a factor of stability and security in the region, and demonstrated the potential of Minsk in the development of integration processes,” the review reads.
