Belarus-China economic cooperation grows larger

MINSK, 9 November (BelTA) – The scale of economic cooperation between Belarus and the People’s Republic of China grows ever larger. The statement was made by Counsellor of the Embassy of China in Belarus Luo Zhanhui in the speech he delivered during the opening ceremony of the expo that opened in Minsk on 9 November to showcase original products from China’s Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, BelTA has learned. It was the second expo on record.

Welcoming visitors of the expo, the diplomat stressed that China and Belarus are good friends and partners. Belarus was one of the countries that had backed China’s One Belt One Road before anyone else. Belarus is also one of the key partners in this initiative.

According to the diplomat, the intensity of China-Belarus bilateral cooperation has never been higher.

The Counsellor of the Embassy of China in Belarus said: “Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko visited China in September. The two heads of state decided to establish relations of trustful comprehensive strategic partnership and mutually beneficial cooperation. The countries agreed to develop friendship in any weather and all kinds of contacts.”

The diplomat also remarked that areas of Chinese-Belarusian trade and economic cooperation continue expanding while the scale of contacts grows larger and larger.
