Belarus, Azerbaijan can increase bilateral trade fast

BAKU, 28 November (BelTA) – Belarus and Azerbaijan can increase their mutual trade volume within a short time if the efforts are properly organized. Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev made the statement during expanded-participation negotiations with Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko on 28 November, BelTA has learned.

Ilham Aliyev said: “We are happy with the way the relations are developing. But the level of mutual trade gives no reasons for joy. We are already exchanging opinions about ways to expand cooperation range, the choice of merchandise, and increase the trade volume. We have a very good potential for that. We can increase the mutual export within a very short time by properly organizing this work.”

The President also noted that Belarus and Azerbaijan are reliable partners not only for each other but for third countries, too. “In the international scene our countries enjoy well-earned respect due to the principled policy and honesty in relations,” stressed Ilham Aliyev.
