Ananich: Belarusian media forum could not leave out information space issues

MINSK, 9 June (BelTA) – The 10th Belarusian International Media Forum “Partnership for the Future: Legacy of the Great Victory” could not steer clear of sensitive issues of the information space, Belarus’ Information Minister Liliya Ananich said summarizing the results of the plenary session on 8 June, BelTA has learned.

Liliya Ananich confessed that she liked the idea of one of the forum speakers. Its point is in Belarusians’ character to seek constructive solutions in everything. “The very policy of our President has been helping us come to constructive proposals on the Belarusian media platform. We understand that we could not leave out the sensitive issues of the information space as they had been splashed out onto TV screens and into the media and blogosphere,” the minister said.

According to Liliya Ananich, the media forum always has room for continuing the dialogue. Thus, in her words, this year’s debates will result in the publication of the final brochure that will include all the important topics discussed by the media forum participants over the past decade.

Another initiative of the Belarusian Information Ministry is to organize an Internet platform “Partnership for the Future”. It can be used by all stakeholders, including experts, political analysts, and journalists. “The open dialogue should include constructive proposals, positive attitude and the intention to find solutions to the most difficult problems,” Liliya Ananich said.

The 10th Belarusian International Media Forum “Partnership for the Future: Legacy of the Great Victory” is underway in Minsk, Minsk and Brest Oblasts on 7-10 June.

The forum has been organized by the Information Ministry of Belarus, the Union State Permanent Committee, the CIS Interstate Fund of Humanitarian Cooperation under the auspices of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Minsk City Hall and the Minsk and Brest Oblast Executive Committees.
