MINSK, 18 December (BelTA) - China will continue to strengthen its strategic partnership with Belarus, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Belarus Zhang Wenchuan, told BelTA.

“First of all, on behalf of the Chinese side, I would like to extend congratulations on the occasion of the second session of the 7th Belarusian People’s Congress. This is a significant event in the political life of Belarus, holding special importance. The address by Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko to the Belarusian people and Parliament will provide a comprehensive review of the country’s development over the past five years. The Congress is planning to approve the Belarusian social and economic development program for 2026-2030, which will chart the course for Belarus’ national development in the upcoming five-year period. This will mark Belarus’ entry into a new critical stage of national development and socio-economic progress,” the head of the Chinese diplomatic mission emphasized.

He continued: “Over the past five years, under the leadership of Aleksandr Lukashenko, Belarus has achieved comprehensive successes in its development. The country maintains a high level of political stability, its economy is growing dynamically, and the life of its people is peaceful and prosperous. As a sincere friend and partner, China wholeheartedly congratulates our Belarusian friends on their developmental achievements. We are confident that the hardworking and kind-hearted people of Belarus, under the leadership of the president, will effectively implement the national development plan for the next five years and continue to attain new and even greater accomplishments.”

Furthermore, the ambassador noted: “It is worth mentioning that just recently, the fourth plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China adopted proposals from the CPC Central Committee for formulating the 15th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development, which established the overarching framework for China’s modernization in the coming five years. While China and Belarus each have their own distinct national characteristics, in planning future development our countries adhere to a people-centered development philosophy, strive for high-quality and sustainable development through innovation and economic restructuring, and work to ensure a more equitable and comprehensive distribution of the fruits of development among all citizens.”

The diplomat expressed the view that such a high degree of alignment and consonance in our development strategies lays a solid foundation for further deepening comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.

“China is ready to work jointly with Belarus to continuously strengthen strategic interaction and policy coordination, to consistently unlock the potential for cooperation across all sectors, and to jointly advance the development of the China-Belarus all-weather and comprehensive strategic partnership for the greater benefit of our two nations and peoples.”
