Ambassador: Belarus is open to talks with new French government

MINSK, 15 May (BelTA) – Belarus is open to talks with the new French government, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to France Pavel Latushko said in an interview with the CTV Channel, BelTA has learned.

“We are waiting for the new French government to be formed. We are open to talks with the new government on matters relating to the development and expansion of trade and economic cooperation,” Pavel Latushko noted.

The diplomat said that Belarus and France boosted their mutual trade considerably in 1Q 2017. Belarus’ exports went up by 70%.

Pavel Latushko also spoke about the launch of large investment projects that involve world-famous French companies. “It is very important to make sure that such projects multiply. We hope that with the new French government, our relations will be improving,” the ambassador emphasized.
