Young Academy of Europe keen to team up with Belarusian Academy of Sciences

MINSK, 30 October (BelTA) – The Young Academy of Europe (Austria) intends to establish cooperation with the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (NASB), Vice Chair of the YAE Board Toma Susi told the media at the 14th international conference for young scientists Youth in Science 2.0’17 on 30 October, BelTA has learned.

“Our academy was founded not long ago, in 2012. This is why we are now establishing contacts with European academies of sciences and research institutes. I am here to establish ties with the NASB, learn more about the main fields of research in your country and the level of young Belarusian scientists,” Toma Susi remarked.

He pointed out that his research interests include nanotechnology and new materials. “I think we will manage to develop cooperation in this field and carry out research together,” the vice chairman said.

The 14th edition of the international conference for young scientists Youth in Science 2.0’17 is taking place in Minsk from 30 October to 2 November. The conference showcases the biggest international and cross-subject projects as well as scientific solutions implemented with the participation of young scientists. The program of the forum comprises reports of young scientists, master classes, plenary lectures, and also panel and roundtable discussions. New scientific projects of the NASB young scientists will be introduced during the conference in the form of interactive presentations and an exhibition.

The conference has gathered over 300 scientists from 12 countries, including Russia, Germany, Austria, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Poland, Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Egypt. Youth in Science will become one of the biggest youth scientific events of the Year of Science in Belarus. The conference is a prestigious forum of projects of gifted young people from the CIS and non-CIS countries. It is organized by the NASB Council of Young Scientists.
