Works of Belarusian students, famous artists on display in Austria

MINSK, 7 September (BelTA) – An exposition of the works of students and teachers of the Belarusian State Academy of Arts as well as the artworks of well-known Belarusian artists from the Priorbank collection has opened in Austria, BelTA learnt from the Belarusian embassy in Vienna.

The exposition is on show in Gumpoldskirchen (Lower Austria) under the auspices of the Gumpoldskirchen City Hall and the Belarusian diplomatic mission in Austria. Attending the opening ceremony was Deputy Burgomaster of Gumpoldskirchen Jorgen Vohringer, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Austria Valery Voronetsky, Rector of the Belarusian State Academy of Arts Mikhail Borozna, Austria’s Ambassador to Russia with concurrent accreditation in Belarus Emil Brix, Chairman of the Board of OAO Priorbank, Honorary Consul of Austria to Minsk Sergei Kostyuchenko. The event was also attended by representatives of the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the diplomatic corps accredited in Vienna, Austrian public and business figures, journalists.

In his greeting speech Valery Voronetsky stressed the importance of developing the Belarusian-Austrian relations as an essential element for building up bilateral cooperation.

While in Austria, the Rector of the Belarusian State Academy of Arts met with the Deputy Director of the Vienna Institute for Conservation and Restoration. The parties discussed cooperation prospects, including an exchange of students, and agreed on the implementation of joint projects.
