Vasil Bykov. The Long Road Home exhibition opens in Moscow

MOSCOW, 20 May (BelTA) – The literary and documentary exhibition Vasil Bykov. The Long Road Home opened at the Belarusian Embassy in Russia on 19 May, BelTA learned from the press service of the diplomatic mission.

The exposition created by the State Museum of History of the Belarusian Literature is centered on Vasil Bykov’s last book The Long Road Home and materials about his creative work from the funds of the museum, which include manuscripts, documents, letters, drawings, books with autographs of the author.

According to director of the museum Lidiya Makarevich, it is symbolic that the exhibition takes place in the Russian capital. She reminded that Vasil Bykov as a writer got recognition in Moscow where he published his first works.

The exhibition featuring Vasil Bykov’s creative path has opened a cycle of exhibitions Famous Names of Our Fatherland. This cycle will also include exhibitions about such renowned cultural figures of Belarus as Yanka Kupala, Yakub Kolas, Michal Oginski, Ivan Khrutsky and others.

The exhibition was prepared as part of the celebrations of the 70th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War and the 90th anniversary of People’s Writer of Belarus Vasil Bykov. It will stay open in the Belarusian Embassy in Russia till 12 June.
