U.S. embassy in Belarus to arrange Facebook chat on 9 November to talk about visa issuance

MINSK, 1 November (BelTA) – The U.S. Embassy in Belarus will arrange a Facebook chat on 9 November to talk about visa issuance. The information was released in the cultural center of the USA embassy in Minsk on 1 November, BelTA has learned.

According to the source, the Facebook chat will be dedicated to visa matters and new visa issuance rules. It will take place in daytime on 9 November. “More information will be available on our official Facebook page,” said the source.

Consul of the U.S. Embassy in Belarus Aleta Kovensky told media that about 6,000-7,000 Belarusians were granted American visas in Minsk in 2016. A total of some 18,000 Belarus citizens applied to USA embassies in various countries for visas.

BelTA reported earlier that as of 1 November 2017 the U.S. embassy in Minsk accepts applications for guest visas, tourist visas, and business visas (B1/B2 category) from residents and citizens of Belarus aged 50 and over.

Applicants of any age, whose American visa of any kind expired less than one year ago, will be able to apply for a new visa in Minsk. All the other visa application procedures will stay unchanged.
