Two medals for Belarus at FIG Pesaro World Cup

MINSK, 4 April (BelTA) – Belarus claimed two silver medals at the 2016 FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup in Pesaro, Italy, BelTA has learned.

Leader of the Belarusian national team Melitina Staniouta clinched silver in the Ball routine with the total of 18,500 points. Gold went to Ukraine’s Ganna Rizatdinova (18,650). Melitina Staniouta finished one step away from the podium in the Hoop event and was fifth in the Ribbon routine. The Belarusian placed 6th in All-Around (72,300 points).

The Belarusian team of Maria Kadobina, Anna Dudenkova, Valeria Pishchelina, Maria Kotyak, Ksenia Cheldyshkina and Arina Tsitsilina grabbed silver with the Clubs and Hoops. They placed sixth All-Around.

Belarusians also won two medals at the 2016 Acrobatic Gymnastics World Championships in China’s Putian. Margarita Bartashevich and Viktoriya Mikhnovich claimed silver in the Women’s Pair (27,575 points) giving way only to the Russian duet of Darya Guryeva and Darya Kalinina (28,760). In the Women’s Group Belarus’ Karina Sandovich, Veronika Nabokina and Yekaterina Borisevich collected silver with the total of 28,220 points. Russia was first with 28,880. Bronze went to China (28,460). The Belarusian tandem of Artur Belyakov and Olga Melnik finished 4th in the Mixed Pair with the total of 27,430 points. Here the champion title was taken by Russia, with the United State collecting silver and the UK earning bronze.
