Tandrevold, Leitner win Youth Pursuits

MINSK, 23 February (BelTA) - Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold of Norway won the 7.5K Youth Women’s Pursuit gold at the 2015 IBU Youth/Junior World Championships at Raubichi on 22 February, BelTA has learned.

Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold won the 7.5K Youth Women’s Pursuit gold Two penalties did not hamper the Norwegian to finish first in 23:26.9. Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold added gold to her Individual silver and Sprint bronze. Julia Schwaiger of Austria came in second, 44.3 second back with two penalties. Third was Austria’s Simone Kupfner, 55.5 seconds back, three missed targets.

Start number one Darya Blashko of Belarus, the winner of the Youth Women’s Sprint, was among medal contenders until the final shooting stage where she closed on five targets but on Julia Schwaiger’s lane. The mistake cost her five additional penalties and the local favorite finished 56th, 10:43.6 back, with eight misses.

Blashko’s teammates finished as follows: Dinara Alimbekova was 12th (2:55.6 back; 8 penalties), Anna Sola - 13th (2:59.8; 7), and Kristina Mazurina - 14th (3:06; 4).

10K Youth Men’s Pursuit won Felix Leitner The victory in the 10K Youth Men’s Pursuit was claimed by Felix Leitner of Austria in 28:12.3, with two penalties. Kirill Streltsov of Russia clinched silver, 3.0 seconds back, with two penalties. Norway's Mattis Haug had two penalties to finish third, 11 seconds behind.

As for Belarusian athletes, Pavel Poplavsky came in 14th (2:44.5 back; 4 penalties), Roman Shinkevich was 27th (3:53.2; 8), Vadim Radyuk finished 40th (5:04.4; 4) and Anton Smolsky cross the finish line in 42nd (5:05.9; 7).
